Methodology

To capture the cleanest data sets possible, we utilize a control-exposed methodology with a blinded survey. Control group responses are typically captured prior to campaign launch to establish benchmarks. Once the control group quota is met, we launch the campaign. As audiences are exposed to the campaign, they are randomly invited to participate in the survey on an opt-in basis.

Frequency Measurement

A main benefit of the TSM|MediaEffect survey is its ability to filter responses based in frequency of exposure to your brand’s ads across the TSM|Network. No other mobile survey is capable of capturing this level of detail, providing the optimal frequency-capping levels and knowledge that media planners require to develop effective campaigns.

Questionnaire Development

No two surveys are exactly alike – each is customized to meet your brand’s specific requirements. Any question you seek to include in your research can be built into the survey. In addition, we can include logical questions that provide for piping based on previous answers. We can also mirror your Internet or traditional media surveys to allow you to measure cross-channel tactics. Most surveys are 10–12 questions in length and take approximately three minutes for a respondent to complete.

Sample Sizes/Quotas

Sample sizes depend upon the individual client’s needs. We typically seek to garner 200 or more responses in both the control and exposed groups. This allows for a confidence level greater than 95% in most instances. Clients who desire a higher level of sample sizes can also be accommodated.

Implementation

Standard implementation time is two weeks for questionnaire development, approvals, and survey construction. When the media flight is completed, our analysts develop a detailed report highlighting the important findings and cross-referencing the results with known best practices, and we’ll provide the raw data as support for clients.

We also support third-party measurement, through our partnership with several leading online providers of Internet effectiveness surveys.

Data Collection

No personal data is collected about your audience without permission. We do not release our survey respondents’ phone numbers or phone data. All surveys are entirely opt-in. We take our audience’s privacy very seriously. All responses are captured on secure servers, and no data is ever sold or shared with a third party.
